Abstract

Community Service Program (KKN) is a form of community service involving students as part of the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. The goal is to apply science and technology directly in community life. One of the locations focused on this activity is Sesumpu Village, located in Penajam District, North Penajam Paser Regency. This village has a fishing area that serves as a community recreation area and also a source of local income. Although this area has good potential for development, several challenges remain, such as minimal lighting at night, the lack of implementation of Occupational Safety and Health (K3) principles, and reliance on conventional electricity that affects operational costs. These issues have the potential to cause safety risks for visitors and managers, as well as hinder the optimal utilization of the area. Therefore, the goal of this KKN activity is to improve safety, security, and energy efficiency aspects by installing solar-powered lamps and providing education on K3 implementation to the local community. The method used in implementing this activity is a participatory approach that actively involves students, the community, and collaboration with the village government from planning to evaluation. The results of this activity showed the installation of four solar-powered lamps that functioned well, thus providing positive impacts in the form of increased security, utilization of renewable energy, reduced electricity costs, and increased community capacity in managing village facilities independently and sustainably.
